We are partnering of a major international telecommunications company for more than 20 years, more specifically in the design and supply of EMI shielding products, thermal interfaces and thermal conductive gels. COMPELMA participated in the development and life of 3 generations of its outdoor equipment.
Here is how we supported him in this challenge when he wanted to deploy its equipment in the North-US market:
To meet the US norms, our customer has tested on the original design of its outdoor equipment the resistance to salt spray conditions for more than 700 hours. It was originally sized for a 169 hours resistance! He has shared with us his test reports, which showed corrosion problems related to galvanic couples. That was blocking him to sell his equipment on the US market.
After technically exchanging simultaneously with the 2 R&D centers of our customer (one located in French and the other in USA), we quickly proposed our innovative co-extruded gaskets. These products provide an excellent EMI shielding into the equipment with an IP protection and without galvanic couples.
Upon validation of the concept, initial samples were studied and very quickly realized, allowing our customer to restart new aging tests. These tests were positive on the first try, so we have transferred immediately our production on the new designs without disturbing current supply. Because customer’s equipment was according to Telecom norm of the US market, he was able to continue to export it.

We worked in collaboration with a Franco-German group which is a leader in gear motor production. We worked in collaboration on their project development: the induction reload for cars and bicycles batteries. Parked in dedicated parking places, batteries reload themselves thanks to induction generated from the pavement under the vehicle.
The difficult parts of the project was related to the ferrite tiles usage: the solution was mechanically fragile, complex to implement, and with a very expensive assembly cost. Moreover, these ferrite tiles increased the vehicle weight.
To answer to these application requirements, we developed and provide a new solution of soft ferrites. These soft ferrites are composed by specifics charges, technically adapted to canalize the induction flow. Our solution, economically sustainable, offers an excellent resistance against mechanic vibrations and thermal vibrations, and completely eliminates the air gap phenomenon that existed when using the ferrite tiles. The weight has been reduced by 30%. The customer’s specifications were fully achieved.

A world leader in military was purchasing antennas in USA, to a specialized local supplier. To break free of a heavy technological dependence sith the supplier, and not be penalized by the US export licenses, our customer has decided to develop its own antennas.
At the time, we were already in collaboration with him as a supplier of shielding covers and frames by etching and of high conductivity soft thermal interfaces.
He then exposed his issue to us to find adapted and innovative solutions, which can be industrially reproducible. With our knowhow of both etching process and sizing processes especially used in automotive, we have developed a technically unusual substitution solution, acting directly on the most sensitive part of the antenna.
Our customer wished to have a single supplier to provide his whole antenna. COMPELMA was selected to be the one, able to have the complete project management for the realization of the whole antenna. We have contacted suppliers of antenna components, jointly identified, audited and qualified with our customer.
Order scheduling and coordination of assembly processes were orchestrated by COMPELMA, thus guaranteeing the conformity of the supply of the overall solution.
This project persists for almost 10 years and we are today supplier of row 1 of our customer.
