Bi-material gasket for EMI shielding and Ingress Protection (IP)

These EMI shielding gaskets are made by extruding 2 kind of silicones on the same time. The result is a soft silicone gasket efficient for sealing (IP) and EMI shielding.

Matériaux
The main part is a neutral silicone (red or blue). The conductive part of the EMI gasket is a loaded silicone (Ni/C or Ag/Al). A fluorosilicone can also be used for harsh environment.
Procédés de Fabrication
Extrusion, molding, splicing.
Charge disponible:
Most common load is Nickel and Graphite. For higher performance Ag/Al can be used.
Conductivité:
<0.12 ohm-cm
Prototypage:
Standard profiles of EMI shielding gasket are available for prototyping and testing.
Dureté:
The raw silicone hardness is 40 Shore A and 65 Shore A for the conductive silicone.
Options
Ultra soft gasket, anti-stretch
Packaging
EMI sealed bags for jointed EMI shielding gasket or in reel for linear EMI gaskets.
Un projet, une demande ?

Description

Bi-material EMI shielding gaskets ensure a high EMI shielding (due to the loaded silicone part) and a high ingress protection level (due to the neutral/soft silicone).

These gaskets are manufactured by extruding simultaneously two kind of silicone. The first is a standard or fluoro silicone and the second silicone is loaded with conductive particles (Ni/C or Ag/Al).

On the final EMI shielding gasket, the conductive silicone partially covers the gasket section. This manufacturing process makes the bi-material gasket resistant and soft.

These EMI shielding gaskets need to be assembled on a groove to ensure a high ingress protection (IP) level. Our range of bi material gaskets is developed to withstand the corrosion and aging problems encountered in aggressive environments: salt spray, electrolytic agents, oil, and solvents. Especially with fluorosilicone material. The operating temperature range is -55°C to +150°C.

Several gasket profiles are available. We help you to choose the best profile and dimensions depending on the dimension of your groove. Once we have the dimension of your groove (l x L x H), we propose as much as possible our standard. If a custom profile is required, we can also manufacture it. Tooling are life time guaranteed, so no worry about tooling extra cost in the future.

The best way to get the right profile for your application is to contact us. We would be happy to help!
